The Adventure Begins!
Blue Dragon Supply is focused on identifying personal protection products in short supply, finding quality sources, importing in volume and distributing in small quantities for households, essential workers and small business.
Reflecting on the first two weeks it has been a real adventure. We had thought we had enough inventory for about a month and most of it sold out in 9 days. We have been scrambling for more supply and now it is coming in with more KN95's coming Monday and Thursday. For cloth masks we have four big orders inbound from multiple suppliers but are still waiting for the grey masks that had a shipping issue on the first attempt.
Over these two weeks shipping costs have risen 2x as the freight capacity vs volume is still out of balance. We have been able to hold prices flat for now. We also have started some sea shipments as the 25-35 day transit is now looking favorable vs 14+ day air freight delays.
Our goal is to always sell from existing stock and this last week has been tough with availability issues for KN95's and cloth masks.
We have really appreciated the feedback and letters from those that have ordered who have shared what they are going through. We really are all in this together and I sincerely hope we are better for it in the end.
We are continuing to expand the catalog to include ready to go masks as well as hard to find supplies for those sewing masks.
Over the coming weeks we will add a tech section with details on what makes a good mask and details on the mask and mask materials we sell.
On the day we opened I had turned on the website, sent a quick note to the market section of an aviation community I have long been a member of and then we headed out sailing for some quarantine quality time on the Columbia River in Portland, Oregon. By the time we were back at the dock Team Blue Dragon had a rapidly growing order book. I am happy to say we are now current on all orders except backorder items and expect to ship delayed KN95 orders no later than Tuesday.
